I'm back!!
Hello!
It's been a while I made a post to this blog - and it is certainly been a wonderful journey with CI's. It is already more than five years being a bilateral and I am very pleased with it.
I've had a "re-mapping" of my CI several times and my hearing gets better. To tell the truth, the hearing gets better; but later on it goes back to the same state as it was before the re-mapping. So I need to "trick" my cochlear to hear better....
And there are some quirks that I learned from accidental or by expermenting the CI mapping. For example, one would expect to hear better by turning up the volume. Not the case for CI's - I actually hear much better by turning the volume down! By turning the volume down, my cochlear becomes more sensitive to the sounds so I am learning to hear new sounds.
As for my AB's Harmony with 120 virtual channels, I am certainly a lucky person to hear better everyday and I hope many more will get CI's when their times comes.
Happy Hearing!!!
